Why do I need an API key to use STABILITY?
API keys help manage requests and prevent abuse of the network. They also help identify the highest throughput for all users.
What counts as a request?
Any call to a Stability API endpoint—read or write—counts as one request. Payload size does not change the count, but a single action may trigger multiple calls.
Is there a limit on total requests per month?
No. We never block legitimate traffic. If you frequently exceed your per-minute rate, we can help guide you to select the right plan for you.
Can I upgrade or cancel at any time?
Yes. You can switch plans in the customer portal. Changes take effect immediately. If you downgrade or cancel, you will have access to the service until the end of the billing cycle.
Do I need to enter a credit card for the Free plan?
No. You can start with the Starter plan without payment details and add billing only when you upgrade.
What happens to my API keys if I downgrade my plan?
You can create, disable, and rotate keys from the dashboard at any time.
Who can access the data I store on STABILITY?
Transactions write to a public, immutable ledger, so the raw bytes are visible to anyone. If you need privacy, encrypt or hash your payload before sending.
What is Burst Protection and why do I need it?
Burst Protection absorbs brief traffic spikes without rate-limiting. It is included in Pro, Ultra and Enterprise plans. The free Starter plan has no Burst Protection.
